“Elegant, finely structured with a tight physique” – Wines Worth Writing About – Tapanappa Whalebone Vineyard Cabernet Shiraz 2019

Source: Wines Worth Writing About
Review Date: Jun 2024

Deep ruby with a beautiful nose of potpourri, a touch of lemon rind, raspberry licorice, brambly berries, cassis, bayleaf, thyme, Sicilian olive, roasted beef, pencil shavings, cedar and a sanguine mineral quality.
In the mouth it’s dry, elegant, finely structured with a tight physique and boasts perfectly ripe fruit at its core. Flavours of blueberry, mulberry, blackberry, cassis and plum shine with freshness and purity, kissed by anise and sweet spice and textured with tight grained leathery tannins. A line of mineral acidity runs throughout and carries it all with ease through to a reaching tail ending with plenty of tension and finesse. A brilliant example of what I consider to be the quintessential Aussie red blend.

Don't miss out on the next vintage of Tapanappa Chardonnays again!
