Visit to the Whalebone Vineyard on 14 January 2013

Review Date: Jan 2013

The resilience of the Whalebone Vineyard after 3 days of high 30s temperature is amazing. The Cabernet Sauvignon will be low yielding and vines look well balance with good bunch exposure. Some bunch thinning is required in the Merlot which was very fruitful and then had a very good set this year, surprisingly enough (better than Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon). The Cabernet Franc is perfectly balanced, and as the Cabernet Sauvignon will be producing low yields this year.
