The most important reviews are those made over the table at home or out to dinner by the everyday drinker and wine lover. Having said that media reviews are certainly a nice pat on the back and do provide some external validation, and every year the release of James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion certainly draws a lot of attention and excitement.
So without futher ado here are Tapanappa’s results – please note some of these are for wines that are finished and bottled, but are yet to be released.
Once again Tapanappa has been awarded 5 red starts, the highest rating awarded. Topping the list for Tapanappa is our as yet unreleased 2010 Tiers Vineyard Chardonnay with 96 points. This is the 3rd successive release to receive 96 points, and to date only the 2006 (with 95 points) has not achieved this mark. This is incredible validation of this very distinguished site, firmly placing it in the upper echelons of Australian Chardonnay. Also pleasing is the high ratings for our Wines of Terroir range. This highlights what we have always felt to be true, that these are strong wines in their own right, and not mere shadows of the single vineyard bretheren.
