“Impressive wine.” – 2010 Whalebone Merlot Cab Franc

Author: Huon Hooke

Medium to deep red colour with purple tints. The bouquet is smoky, toasty and savoury with very appealing red and dark fruit aromas, a kiss of stylish oak and hints of dried herbs. It is already quite a complex wine, and not minty. It’s very intense and subtly powerful in the mouth, with great structure and persistence. The tannins are ample and smooth, and run the full length of the palate, drawing out the finish superbly. Impressive wine.
