I have been an unabashed fan of this wine for many years, and even in what was a very hot, dry vintage, yet again, it’s come up trumps. As you can imagine, the warmer year has certainly produced slightly richer characters, immediately evident in the slightly darker colours and then manifested on the nose where richer stone fruit characters emerge. Yet the palate retains a fine, precise, linear acidity which gathers and focuses through to a very long, precise finish. While this might be a product of a warmer vintage, the regional and vineyard character still carries through to produce a wine of impeccable poise and precision with great flavour intensity.
